Review of a Towing Products Tongue Weight Scale
Today we are going to show you part number 5780 from Towing Products. What we have here is a trailer tongue weight scale. Alright, to cover a couple features on it, first off, it has 2 readings on here. It has it in metric and in standard. Basically, in standard, you have 0 to 2000 pounds tongue weight that it will handle. And also here, on top, this part is removable. And what this is for, if you put it on a scale with blocks, if you put this inside the tongue of a coupler, you can get your weight off of that. Or, without it, you can put this under the jack and pretty close get the same accuracy.
At this point, we will go ahead and demonstrate and show you how it works. To use this, we are going to put it under the jack. So put it as square under the jack as possible, keep it very well centered as best you can. And then, with your coupler unlatched and the truck kind of loose inside there so it does not drag as you pick it up, go ahead and crank the jack down until you take the weight off of the truck and it will show you on the scale how much your tongue weight is. We have the weight off the truck and it is all on the scale now. And our scale says about right at 1000 pounds tongue weight. And there you have it for part number 5780 from Towing Products, the trailer tongue weight scale.
