Review of Master Lock Keyed Alike Trailer Lock Set

Todays product in the spotlight is part number 3774DAT from Master Lock, this keyed alike trailer lock set. As you can see this lock set comes with its own handy carrying case, with the three different locks in it and we will show you how it works. Basically, the kit comes with three different locks. We will show you the main lock that fits into the ball socket. We will show you that one first and how it works. To show the lock itself, it has three positions, obviously the locked position, then next of course is the unlocked position, and in the middle there is a setting here where you can actually ratchet down exactly to the space you want. Then you lock it and pull the key so you are set to go. Now we will show you on a few of our couplers how it works. We will use two completely different couplers to show you the versatility. Now we will show you on the other style coupler. There you have it installed. Now we will show you the lock for the latch part of your coupler. We will start by how it comes off, then we will put it back together on these two couplers here.

You turn the key and it comes off like that. To lock it you do not really need the key, it just slides on into place, wherever you want it to go. We will show you on this coupler here, it just simply goes through the trigger handle here all the way through as far as you can go. Slide it on as far as it will go, that way you cannot get a pair of bolt cutters in there or a saw as it is too tight to work with it. Next we will show you on this style coupler here. The same thing applies, just go through the latch hole like so and there you have it, it cannot come off. Also you can tell there is a little space here but still it would be difficult to get a pair of bolt cutters through there. Now we will show you the actual ball lock itself. This part actually connects the ball mount to your hitch and keeps it from going anywhere. You can lock it in place, and also you can tow it in place. You pull off the rubber cover, turn the key and it comes apart like so, and it is ready to go on your ball mount. We just so happen to have a receiver here, and it slides in all the way through, push it back together, lock it, and your good to go. Also with this lock you are not limited to 2 inch receiver hitches, this will also work with 1-1/4 inch receiver hitches. It has a sleeve on here where it allows us to work on smaller hitches. This is a nice three piece lock set from MasterLock.

We will go over the features one more time. The ball mount lock will cover both a 2 inch and 1-1/4 inch receiver hitch if you take off the bushing. Then this is the latch lock for your coupler. So when you are locked up and towing, no one can actually take it off of your hitch ball when you are going down the road or parking somewhere. When you are unattached from the trailer you can use this lock here. It keeps everything secure whether you are on the road with your trailer or leaving it behind. One other note about this lock set is that one key fits all three locks. Also this coupler lock will fit both 1-7/8 inch and 2 inch as we pointed out before, and a variety of different couplers. That will lock it up.
