Today we are going to show you part number TH01571250 from Thule. This is Thules XB16 tire chains. As shown here, the tire chains come in a nice carrying box. Also the kit comes with a pair of gloves to help keep your mitts dry while you are installing the chains. It even comes with a couple of extra repair links. And finally it comes with a little kneeling mat to keep your knees from getting wet while you are kneeling in the snow. These tire chains use unique, color-coded connection points to ease installation. Basically you are just matching color for color to put everything together. This is also compatible with anti-lock braking and electronic stability control systems on some of the newer cars and trucks. Actually this set is specially made for commercial vehicles, RVs and for off-road adventures, too. Construction is hardened manganese nickel alloy steel. The chain link diameter is about 16 millimeters and it has internal clearance required to operate within the fender well of about 16 millimeters too. This does come complete with a 1-year warranty. Now we will go ahead and show you how it works and show you a typical installation. more

Today we are going to show you part number TH00204102 from Thule. This is one of their tire chains, and this is their CS10 model. As you can see here, it comes with a carrying case, and you can carry both chains. Off to the right-hand side is a pair of gloves to help keep your mitts dry while you install the snow chains. Also, there is a set of extra repair links that come with. And then also, off to the left of that is a handle, and that is part of the quick-release system, which is one of the benefits of this actual part number here. It makes it really easy to disconnect the chain and take it off of the vehicle. And finally there is a kneeling mat so when you kneel down of course you will not get your knees wet. It has a patented self-centering and self-tensioning system. The tensioning system actually centers the chain on the tire as you drive. The pattern on the chain is asymmetrical, diamond-pattern chain with icebreaker reinforcements. And this will not affect anything like anti-lock braking systems and electronic stability control systems. And next we will go ahead and install this chain and show you how it works and how it looks. more

Today we are going to show you part number TH01221102 from Thule. This is their CB12 tire chains. As you can see here, the chains come in a handy carrying case. I have one of the chains in the center also you have a package with some gloves that you can wear over your mittens and whatnot to keep them dry while you are putting the chains on. Also there is an extra pair of links so in the unlikely event that you break a chain you can fix it rather easily. Also there is a kneeling mat so you do not get your knees wet while you go ahead and install the chains. A few quick notes about these. It does feature color-coded connection points to ease installation. A plastic-covered cable runs from behind the tire to allow you to move the chain without moving the car. The links themselves are a dual-sided D-shape that provides greater traction. And also this will not mess up anything with anti-lock brake systems or electronic stability control systems. It is really designed for passenger-type vehicles. We will go ahead and show you how it fits and how it installs on a typical tire. more

Today we are installing a hitch on a 2008 Honda Ridgeline hitch number 75280. We are going to start off showing you the holes where the hitch will mount up to. It is these three here and it is the same on the other side, plus being two more on the fascia. The first step to lowering the exhaust, sometimes it helps to spray some type of lubricant on the hanger itself so you can take off the rubber grommet easier. So after you do the first one, then you do the same to the back. In some cases, after you lower the exhaust, the heat shield that is around it may come down, as well, so you have more clearance and more access in getting to the bolts on the hitch install. In this case, the heat shield is flexible enough to just move it out of the way to get the hitch installed. more

Today we are going to be installing part number 75163 by Draw-Tite on a 2003 Mitsubishi Endeavor. We are underneath the vehicle now, and we are looking at the drivers side frame rail over here. The mounting location for the hitch on the drivers side is going to be the two weld nuts here at the base of the frame and then the two weld nuts here on the side of the frame, as well. On models that have seen at least one winter, a lot of times there is some corrosion built up in these weld nuts. So it is a good idea to go ahead and lubricate those first with a spray lubricant like WD-40 to kind of loosen up the rust and make it a little easier to get the bolts in there. So I am going to go ahead and do that on both sides of the vehicle. more

Some features of this hitch pin are: It has got a stainless steel hitch pin brass lock with a rubber dust cover, which helps protect the lock it can be used on any hollow 2-inch ball mount and this basically eliminates the clanking sound while towing. And it comes with three components: the hitch pin itself the lock and of course, the keys and then this part here, which actually sits inside of the ball mount itself. That is what actually clamps the ball mount to the side of the hitch and eliminates the clanking sound. And what we will do is go ahead and install it on a typical ball mount and show you how it looks. more

Today we are going to install part number 65031 from Draw-Tite, and we are going to install this on a 2005 Toyota Tundra pickup. To begin our install, let us take a few pieces off the vehicle. First off, this tow hook right here has to come off it will stay off. This skid plate right here, that will have to come off and stay off. And then this hook over here, this loop or tie-down has to come off, also. This bolt here and here and there are two back here that come out and allow the shield to come down. Next we will install the hitch on existing weld nuts. It is a good idea to have an extra set of hands because it is kind of heavy and kind of wide. Once we have the hitch installed by the factory bolts I am sorry, with the factory holes then we use the hitch as a template to drill out the last two remaining holes. All right, what we will do from here on out is, we will go ahead and snug the bolts down, lock the hitch into position, and we will start our drilling. The hitch will mark where our holes are going to be drilled at. Again, we will use it for a template. We will start off with a 1/4-inch drill bit to make a pilot hole, and then we will follow it up with a 1/2-inch bit. And this is the other one right here. more

Today we are going to be installing hitch part number 70181 on a 2003 Ford Ranger. The first thing we want to do is lower the spare tire and get it out of the way. OK, looking at the passengers side frame rail, we are going to go ahead and point out the mounting location for the hitch. There are three existing holes in each side of the vehicle which are going to provide the mounting location. There is one here at the bottom of the frame, and two on the side of the frame one here, and one here as well. The first thing we are going to do, were going to go ahead and put the hardware in the locations on both sides of the vehicle at the bottom of the frame and put the hitch up into position. We can hold them in place with a nut onto this bolt. OK, and with the two bolts loosely installed at the bottom of the frame, we can go ahead and put ones in the side of the frame next. more

And, looking at the drivers side frame rail, you can see the three attaching points at the bottom of the frame. These are weld nuts, but we are just going to be taking the bolts that were provided with the installation kit and throwing them up into there. A lot of times you will have some corrosion built up in these nuts. What I have already done is sprayed some spray lubricant like WD-40 up into there and cleaned them out really well so that the bolts can thread in there more easily. Today we are going to be showing you part number S80820. This is the Silver Stick Swagman Micro Hand Bike Pump. This is a one-way, lightweight, mini carbon pump. It pumps up to 120 psi. Its SmartHead technology and fold-out T handle combine to allow for efficient, easy pumping. Its SmartHead technology also automatically adjusts to fit Presta and Schrader valves. Its aluminum barrel is made for durability, and it includes a mounting clip for attaching to the bike frame. This is the bike pump, as you can see it here. And it has this harness here that latches onto the frame of your bike using this strap here - which, you pull it around, and it hooks on like so. And when you want this to actually come off on its own, it comes free like that. Then you fold this handle out, and there is your pump portion of it. Today we are going to be installing hitch part number 36116 on a 1992 Lincoln Town Car. We are underneath the vehicle now and we will go ahead an point out the attaching points for the hitch. You can see we are looking at the passengers side frame rail. The hitch is actually going to be clamped to this frame rail and we are going to have to drill out all four of the holes that are going to be the attaching points for the hitch. So the first step is to get the hitch clamped up into position. Now that we have got the clamp hitched up into position we are going to go ahead and drill out the forward-most holes, which will allow us to put the bolts through and hold it up into place. And then we can remove our clamps and drill out the rear-most holes. OK, now that I have got the forward-most holes drilled on both sides, I am going to go ahead and put the bolt and block into place - again, to hold the hitch up into position so I can release the clamps and drill out the rear-most holes. And we are going to use the fish wire that was provided in the installation kit. And we just want to feed that through the hole that we just drilled, out through this large hole at the end of the frame. And then we just slide our block onto the fish wire and wrap the thread to the bolt with the fish wire. And this will allow us to pull both the block and the bolt through the frame and into position. And we attach that with the conical-tooth washer and nut. OK, I am going to go ahead and do that for the other side as well. more

Today we are going to show you part number 74211 from Hoppy. This is Hoppys Tailgate EasyLift. What this is, is a device that actually takes the weight off the tailgate and makes it easier to lift up and down. In most cases it will take up to 80 percent of the weight of the tailgate off your hands. It is actually pretty easy to install. As soon as you open it up you can see the instructions on what to do to install it. Basically you only have to drill two holes. One gets drilled into the tailgate itself and the other gets drilled into the truck bed itself. Most of the time on a tailgate you take two arms and you have got to really kind of push and shove it up in there. With the EasyLift it actually does not require that much effort at all. You can do it easily one-handed while probably carrying something in that arm, too. And also, when you let it down, it does not really flop down all that hard it actually has a controlled descent. And again, it just makes it smooth going up into the bed when you close it. And there you have it for part number 74211 from Hoppy, the Tailgate EasyLift. more

Today we are going to be installing part number 90185, the Prodigy by Tekonsha, on a 1993 Chevrolet Suburban. We are also going to be using the Brake Control Installation Kit, part number ETBC7 as well. We are going to start at the rear of the vehicle and go ahead and install the 7-pole wiring adapter that is included in the ETBC7. We have already installed the 4-pole wiring harness under the vehicle, so that is going to be the basis of what the 7-pole is actually going to plug into. The installation kit also comes with a mounting bracket for the 7-pole. Typically, you would need to find a mounting point for the bracket itself, like on the bottom of the bumper, or somewhere of that sort. The hitch that we previously installed as well actually has a mounting bracket attached to it, so we are going to attach the 7-pole bracket there, and then mount the 7-pole inside of there. With the 7-pole attached and into position, we want to go ahead and make our connection with the existing 4-pole into the 7-pole here. These two wires here, the blue one and the black one, are going to be for the brake lead for the brake controller and then the hot lead that goes directly to the battery. And we are going to connect that to the double-bonded wire that came with the ETBC7. The purple wire here is for the reverse function on the 7-pole harness. If your trailer does not have reverse lights, you do not necessarily have to hook this one up - you can just kind of tape it up and out of the way. The white wire is for the ground, and that does need to be grounded directly to the frame here itself. I have an existing grounding point from the pre-existing 4-pole harness that we have in place so I am just going to use that one as well. We actually have put a smaller ring terminal on the white ground wire here to accommodate the smaller screw that I have used to attach the ground. OK, we are going to go ahead and attach the double-bonded wire that was provided in the ETBC7with the two wires on the 7-pole harness now. So I am going to strip back a little bit of the jacketing. And, as you can see inside the jacketing here, we have go two wires. We have got a white and a black. We are going to go ahead and use the white wire and connect it to the blue brake lead on the harness and we are just going to cut-connect black to black here. more

The first thing we want to do is to locate the port that the brake control plug is going to plug into. As you can see, we are in the drivers side cab area, underneath the steering column. It will be located on the top row, second from the left. So what we are going to do is go ahead and remove the cover here, and go ahead and plug in the brake control plug. And we are going to go ahead and plug in part 3015-P. And it plugs in right there. And as you can see, the other end of the harness here has the plug end for the Prodigy itself. So I am going to go ahead and route these wires up and over, out of the way. And then we are going to go ahead and find a suitable mounting point for the Prodigy itself. OK, I went ahead and routed the harness up and out of the way. I have routed it over here to the right side of the steering column. On the Chevy Suburban here, there is actually a lip that is folded under on the bottom side of the dash here, which makes a perfect spot to mount the bracket for the brake controller itself. So I am going to go ahead and mount it in that location there. more

Today we are going to show you an American Flag Waving 2-Inch Hitch Receiver Cover, from Alfred. And this is part number 034092100201. As you can see here, it depicts an American flag in a waving position. And this fits only 2-inch receiver hitches. And it is constructed out of alloy material with an enamel inlay into the etching here to provide the colors. On the backside here, you can see the actual alloy material that it is made out of. It also comes with a gasket. What that does, it helps seal up the hitch tube cover and also provides a little bit of friction or something to press against for the wire forms as they are installed into the receiver hitch itself. And the wire forms themselves have two different lengths to facilitate installing a hitch cover, because sometimes a hitch pin in the end of the hitch itself has varying lengths, depending on that manufacturer. And on the tabs here, you can see that the pins have different heights, like say this one is towards the end and this one is towards the bottom. Again, it gives you better adjustment to make a proper fit on your hitch. more

Today we are going to be installing part number 70609 from Hidden Hitch on a 1997 Infiniti QX4. The first thing we want to do is to go ahead and remove the spare tire and get the chain up out of the way. OK, taking a look at the frame rails here, we are going to go ahead and point out the locations for the mounting holes. We are on the passengers side, and you can see there is a tie-down hook over here on the side of the frame, held in by three bolts. We are going to have to actually remove these three bolts because those are going to be the attaching points for the hitch itself. And we need to do that same thing on the drivers side where there is a tow hook, as well. So, the first step is to go ahead and remove the bolts here. OK, over here on the drivers side frame rail, again, we are going to need to remove the tow hook, removing these same three bolts as we removed on the passengers side. In order to do so, we are going to need to take down this compressor box, here, as well. This is held in with three bolts on the frame right here, right here, and right here. We want to do that first, again, to get it out of the way. And then we can take down the tie-down hook. more

Today we are going to install part number TH342 from Thule. This is part of the Professional Line. This is a Cap Rack System that gets bolted to the top of the cap of your truck whether it be a fiberglass unit as we have shown here or an aluminum unit that can be also available. The first step involved is to find a place where you can actually mount the rack itself. Generally, in the corners of the cap area is going to be your strongest area. Try not to go too far forward away from the corner, to keep it as strong as possible. Also, you have to take into account what is underneath here. On aluminum racks, you have the bars that are going across the frame of it. And also, on some fiberglass caps, such as this one, there is a layer of insulation or a thicker material underneath here. We actually had to fit between that thicker layer and the corner here, so that is why these are sitting as far in the corner as possible. And once you have the pads in place where you want them, we did tape them down to hold everything in place. And we will go ahead and drill out our holes to mount them. more

Today we are going to install part number 11179 from Curt on our 2001 BMW 530i. To begin our install, we are going to get underneath some access panels here. First off, we have to get to the spare tire cover and actually take out the spare tire. We will be drilling into the spare tire well, so it is always a good idea to stay away from the spare tire. After removing the spare tire, we will get behind these access panels here. And there are three nuts with integrated washers that actually bolt the bumper to the end of this frame rail, right here. And we need to take those three completely off. And it will be the same on both sides. All right, there are three clips that need to be removed to take off the bumper. There is one on the bottom, one kind of on the side there, and then finally there is one up there toward the top. We just need to take the center part out of it and the rivet will come out, and we can move this splash guard out of the way. Okay, at this point we can go ahead and remove the bumper. We need to do that to have access for drilling. And at this point, you will need an extra set of hands. more

Obviously you can slide your can or cup or whatever you can use that will fit in there. And this is the part here that actually clips onto the bicycle handlebar itself. Basically what it does is, this part is a clamp that goes onto the handlebar. And it is easily adjusted by this tab right here. You slide it over your handlebar and then you just basically clamp it down tight to lock it into place. Pretty simple device you can easily transport it between different bicycles. We will go ahead and install it on a bicycle and show you how it looks. more
