Today we are going to show you part number TH01584225. What this is, is a Thule Tire Chain Kit. Today we are going to be demonstrating this product on a tire size 265-70R16. What is really nice about this tire chain kit is it does not require you to drive over a chain, so it simply wraps around the tire. Connect a few easy connection points and then just go ahead and drive off, with this easy-to-use, self-tensioning system. As you can see here, we have our tire chain laid out. And as you tell, there is one end that is labeled yellow. And what will happen is that end will get put behind this tire and will meet up to the other end that is blue. Next you will see the chains themselves. They actually come around over across the top of the tire. Then, once you get them across the top of the tire, you will link the small hooks and small red links together. There is one on each end of the chains, at the very end. In the middle, you will see a tensioning cable that actually will be connected back to the other Thule tensioning device, back on the right side. We will actually go ahead and install it and show you how it works.
As you can see, we are at the yellow end, and we are going to attach it back to the blue end, just like that. The next step is take your chains and go all the way around and start pulling them across the top of the tire. Make sure the loop is back behind the tire. Pull your chains around. It might be a little bit tough but bear with it, they will come together. And also, if you have got any snow like in the situation we have here, dig all this out, so you can get the most as you can underneath the tire here. And that will go a long way to getting the rest of these connections done. First off, let us go ahead and connect the red link to our hook. And then we will go along the bottom here and we will pull our tensioning cable. Again, try and get as far as you can underneath the tire here, and that really helps that a lot. And then you can put it through this buckle. You just open this up and just kind of stick it in. Try to get a few links in there. Hold that. And then we will go up to our tensioning device. And we just pull it down and make the last connection. Now as it looks right now, it actually looks pretty awkward. But in fact as you rotate it will actually self-center itself. Okay, now that we have both our tires chained up, we will go ahead and take it for a test drive.
As you can see, the self-centering system actually worked pretty good. We started off with it only about right here. And it actually pulled itself toward the middle. And you can see the chain is relatively centered around the tire. And after a couple of little test runs here you can actually tell that the chain has actually centered itself even more on the tire, which proves that the system worked quite well. And there you have it for part number TH01584225, the Thule Tire Chains.
