Today we are going to cover part number TH575 from Thule. This is Thules Snowboard Rack with Locks. This is one of our space-saving designs. This rack will hold up to two snowboards, and it actually holds them at an angle. So, in other words, you have more room left over for other objects you and put on your roof rack, like another ski rack.
Next, we will cover some of the features of this snowboard rack. You can custom fit to different widths of snowboards. This cable, obviously, does part of that, but also, on the inside here, where a snowboard sits, you can adjust those up and down through in here. Next is the angled design of it. While it is on your roof rack, this is actually pointing toward the outside of the vehicle so you have more room here to put other accessories. And lastly is the integrated cable lock. What this does is, it actually holds the snowboard in place, and it actually gets locked into place here. So no one can take off with your snowboards. Next we will show you the hardware that comes with it. It has these four clamps that go on the bottom of the ski rack itself. It will clamp to a variety of different roof-rack bars. One nice feature about the hardware, it has an anti-theft design to it. It looks like a regular torques bit however, there is a raised bump at the bottom of the screw so that you have to use a special tool for that. And Thule does provide it right here.
We have got one installed to give you an idea of what it looks like. We will go ahead and install the second one to show you how it is done. Slide it over your roof rack and put the clamps underneath of it, and then just go ahead and screw it down shut. And then tighten it up so it will not fall over on its own, and then do the back one. Then what you want to do is take a second and make sure you have these equally in line, basically. And once you have them aligned the way you want them, go ahead and tighten them down as tight as you can.
We will go ahead and install a snowboard. Now, if you notice the cables hanging off the back side of them there are four slots, depending on if you are carrying one or two snowboards. So it will take a little bit of trial and error to figure out which one you need, due to different widths of your snowboard and how to adjust the bottom of the cradles, too. We will slit up our snowboard, pull the cable around, get it centered the best you can, and then pull your latch up and put in your cable. Once you make the gross adjustment of your cable, then go ahead and fine-tune it with the cradle itself. You may have to raise it or lower it, as needed, to get the correct amount of tension on there. All right, once you have found the right tension, just go ahead and lock it into place with your key. And just repeat the same process for the other side. All right, and your snowboard is safe and secure, ready to go down the road. All right, and that covers our review of part number TH575 from Thule.
