Installation of Swagman Aero Gripper Roof Rack Load Bars

Today we are going to show you part number S65150 from Swagman. This is their Aero Gripper. What this part does is it adds to your existing roof rack. The roof rack has to have the rails that go from front to rear, and this provides a crossbar for them. There is minimal install time on this. Basically, you set the Aero Gripper on top of your roof rack, adjust the feet to match your rack, and then adjust the bar that goes across so it is even on both sides. And then install some simple, plastic stops to keep them from moving after that.

All right, let us go ahead and install one of the bars. Put it across your roof rack and make sure you have the jaws nice and open so it will be easy to go onto it. And if you do not have enough room, just take this little handle here and you can unscrew them just a little bit more. It works just like a regular bolt. And make sure you have it fully seated down, like this one, and double-check the other side. All right, once you have them fully seated, take a few seconds to push the bar back and forth and try to get them even on both sides of the vehicle. Once you have them even, go ahead and take them back off.

Once you have the Gripper set, basically it comes with these plastic spacers. Just figure out where you need to mark them. Then you go ahead and cut them and just press them into the grooves front and rear, and that will keep them from moving from here on out. So that means that the rack is now specially tuned for the rack on your vehicle.

Go ahead and put the Gripper back onto the roof rack, and take this handle and just tighten it down, just like a bolt left to loosen, right to tighten. And once you do have it tight, go ahead and fold the handle back down into the space here. And there is a key right here that locks it in place. And to lock it in place, there is this plastic key right here that just grips in the center there. And it locks the handle so it cannot be undone. And basically you repeat the same thing for the other half that goes toward the front of the vehicle. And with this rack you can load up with anything you want as long as it does not go over 100 kilograms. And there you have it for part number S65150 from Swagman, the Aero Gripper.
