Review of the Swagman XT 4 Bike Rack
Today we are going to be showing you part number S63380. This is the folding, 4-bike, dual-arm rack for 2-inch trailer hitches - the Swagman XT. Its heavy-duty design carries up to four bikes. Two arms provide maximum stability. Two cradles for each bike secure bikes to the rack using durable, rubber straps. The grooved and cushioned cradles softly grip bikes. They rotate left to right and adjust front to back to accommodate any alternative or womens frames. And it has an optional anti-sway cradle that can be added to prevent bikes from swaying front to back. Its arms fold down for convenient storage, and the rack tilts forward to allow easy access to the vehicles rear cargo area. It fits 2-inch trailer hitches only. It includes a pin and clip with an anti-rattle device to secure the rack to the trailer hitch.
Next we are going to go ahead and show you where the anti-sway device goes it. Once you put the shank in, it comes with this bolt here, and you just use a wrench or ratchet to go ahead and tighten it down so it is nice and sturdy. All right, next we are going to go ahead and show you the tilting feature of this. It is a fairly simple process to do. You simply pull the pin at the bottom near the shank and you just let it fall toward you, and you have rear access to the vehicle. It has a stopping bolt right here that keeps it from going anywhere else. Then you have rear access to the vehicle. Okay, next we are going to go ahead and take a look at the arms. Those also bend down. And, once again, it is the same process as before. You pull out the pin and you let it fall down toward you. Let it fall, and line up the holes right. Now this position here guarantees maximum storage capacity. When you are done with it and need to put it in your garage, it folds down, and that makes it that much simpler for you.
Okay, next we are going to go ahead and throw a bike up there but before we do we are going to loosen up a couple of the cradles here. We are using a standard-frame bike here. Just gently set it in. Now we are going to focus on the cradles. As I said before, they use rubber straps to actually tighten the bikes down. If you look here on the cradles, they can move left to right and front to back. And they also have these little grooves here to ensure the cables are not get mashed up against the frame once you load your bike up. And there you have it for part number S63380, the folding, 4-bike, dual-arm rack for 2-inch trailer hitches - the Swagman XT.
