Review of a Swagman Turbo 2 Bike Towing Rack
Today we are going to review part number S64662 from Swagman. This is their 2-Bike Turbo Rack. the best part about this Turbo Rack is actually that it mounts onto this extended ball mount, which is sold separately. It allows you to tow a trailer and carry your bikes at the same time. Again, it will give you clearance for your trailer and also good additional wheel clearance for your bicycles, too.
Next, we will discuss the finer points of this bicycle rack and then show you how bicycles actually get attached to the carrier. As you can see here, the bicycle rack actually wraps around an extended ball mount. Again, this is a ball mount that is sold separately. And this part goes into the hitch, and this slides onto the hitch, and it is attached by two set screws that help keep it from moving around. And those are located on the bottom. As you can see here, it rises up above your ball mount to give you plenty of clearance for your trailer coupler, up to the point where your bikes ride on the rails here. And this is the part where the wheels sit on the rails. And these are the hoops that actually hold the wheels straight. And they are completely adjustable. Just move this knob here, and you can slide them in or out to match the width of your bicycle. And the tires, as a safety precaution also, get held in place by the Velcro straps. They simply wrap around the wheel, back onto itself, and it is properly tied down. Next is the top post here. This is where part of your frame actually gets tied down to the post here. It actually forces the bike down onto the rack. And it does come with this strap right here to loop around both bikes and go back to the same post. Also the post itself is actually adjustable left and right.
All right, we will go ahead and install a bike and show you how it looks. Put the bike in place and get your strap around the wheel. Just simply pull it around and reattach. And with the center post, we attach the center strap. Again, we are only doing one here, but you can loop it through both bikes and then tighten them down.
