Review of a Swagman XT Folding 2 Bike Dual-Arm Rack
All right, today we are going to be showing you part number S63370. This is the Folding 2-Bike Dual-Arm Rack for 2-inch trailer hitches, the Swagman XT. Two arms provide stability and rotating, cushioned cradles allow a wide variety of frames to fit the rack. Both arms fold down for convenient storage. And the rack also tilts forward to allow easy access to your vehicles rear cargo area. This fits 2-inch trailer hitches only. It includes a pin and clip with an anti-rattle device to secure the rack to the trailer hitch. We are going to go ahead and show off some of these features and show how it actually fastens into the vehicle of your choice.
As you can see, now we have it in its folded capacity, which is great for storage in your garage or basement - wherever you may want to put it. Now to unfold it to get it ready for travel, all you need to do is simply pull the pin toward the base, fold it up and replace the pin, and you are ready to go down the road. Okay, now we are ready to lift this into the hitch. You simply place it into the hitch, line up the holes, and then use the anti-sway bolt to fully attach it inside and make sure it does not rattle as you drive. Next we are going to go ahead and show you how this tilt feature works. It is a fairly simple process. Once again, you unbolt the pin toward the base of the bike rack and you simply let it come to you. Once you do that, you have access to the rear of your vehicle. And this bar here, where you see this bolt, actually keeps it from going too far down. And now you can get to the rear of your vehicle.
As you can see here, we have the cradle portion of the bike rack folded down, still. Now, to show off its folding feature: once again, you pull the pin at the top of the pole and just lift up and replace the pin and you are ready to go. And if you see here, these rubber pads here actually stop it to make sure that you are in the right position and you are ready to put the pin back through. Now also, it comes with the clip portion of it. We are going to go ahead and place a bike on this to show you how it works, and then we will focus on the cradles and show you some of their features, as well.
We are going to use a standard frame bike for this, just for demonstration purposes it makes it a little bit easier. And we will be placing it on the second set of cradles, to show you how that works. First, before we do anything, we undo the cradles so we can fit the bike on a lot easier. Set them inside the cradles. One of the big points of this is that the cradles move back and forth and side to side to accommodate many different styles of frames. And, to tighten it down, you just take a Phillips head screwdriver and tighten down this bolt here. There are grooves on the inside which actually help prevent the cables from being mashed up against the frames. And there you have it for part number S63370. This is the Folding 2-Bike Dual-Arm Rack for the Swagman XT.
