Review of the Roadmaster Towmaster

Today we are going to be showing you part number RM-501, the Roadmaster stow master car mounted tow bar weighted at 6,000 pounds. The tow bar centers and locks itself as you drive ahead. That is a 6,000 pound capacity. The tow bar itself weighs 48 pounds, however this will not work with the MX series base plates. We are going to go ahead and show you some of the distinct features about this 48 pound tow bar. The tow bar gets attached to your vehicle using these brackets here and you can see they actually offer a wide range of movement as you are driving on down the road. These are the locking bars here and back here is the coupler mount which will be hooking up to your ball mount. Before we put this on we are going to show you how this folds up. As you see here this is bar that hooks up to the car. Turning this around you can see that this is locking it up to make sure that it does not move. You simply just turn like so and it folds up to a nice neat little area here. It defiantly makes it much more easy for storage.

Here is an example of what this apparatus might look like when it is attached to your RV and to your vehicle. Now you can see here that these arms are uneven. However as you go driving on down the road these are self tensioning. So you can make a few turns and everything locks up and is secure, free to move left to right or where ever you may need. Now unlike the other models from Roadmaster. This tow bar actually. Does not detach from the bars themselves as mentioned before it just simply slides together and forms one piece that folds out as you need it. There you have it for part number RM-501 this is the Roadmaster stowmaster car mounted tow bar rated at 6,000 pounds.

I've made two purchases from etrailer, and have been delighted with the quality and customer service. The trailer hitch they sold me went on ALMOST as easily as they said. I'd recommend using a little break-free on the weld nuts on the chassis, but that's not etrailer's fault... I'm looking forward to my next purchase, which will be a hitch for a hard-to-fit application. They've already provided me the model number and price, and I'm confident it will be just right.
