Review of the Roadmaster Falcon 2 Tow Bar

Today we are going to show you part number RM-522 from Roadmaster. This is the Roadmaster Falcon all terrain non binding tow bar, rated for 6000 pounds. A couple facts are that it comes with a non binding freedom latch that disconnects the first time every time. It also features an auto lock towing mechanism which allows both tow bars to extend or retract for a quick connection. Also if you drive away the arms will self center and automatically lock themselves together. The use of the stainless steel components allow for smooth and trouble free operation which prevents corrosion that will bind up moving parts. Now we will go ahead and install it in a typical 2 inch receiver hitch and show you some more features it has. This part number does come complete with the base bar and the tow bar itself. Also the base bar itself, the hardware it mounts to on your base plates on your vehicle it does come complete with the hardware to attach to that.

Now we will show you a typical application of a tow bar. It has 2 axis of movement. It has up and down and also left to right movement. And we will show you when it is time to disconnect your vehicle from the RV it is pretty simple. First off what you want to do is disconnect it from the base bar itself. And that is pretty simple by just undoing the snap pin here and pulling out the actual pin itself. At this point you would pull away your car. When you are not using it you can fold it up and store it on the RV and out of the way. All you have to do is lift up on the bar, fold it together, push it up, and this little bracket here will hold it in place and you leave it like so. Or you can fold it to either side to store it out of the way. When you do need to use it, you just unfold it and attach it back to your car. When you are ready to use your tow bar, to reverse the procedure pull this latch out of the way and extend your arms out. They do not have to be an even length either. The car does not have to be perfectly aligned with the adjust ability of the arms going left and right and independent movement of them. Plus with the telescoping effect you can get your car close to it then pull them up and adjust them from there. We have the base bar crooked so that your car does not have to be straight on. So you can go ahead and leave it just like that. So when you take off do a couple left and right turns and that will help center the tow bar and it will actually lock itself into place. Also built to the inside of these tow bars are extra guide rails on the outside that you can run your safety chains or electrical cords through. There you have it for part number RM-522 from Roadmaster, the Falcon all terrain non binding tow bar rated for 6000 pounds.
