Today we are going to show you part number 2989AT from Master Lock. This is Master Locks universal, heavy-duty coupler lock for all types of different couplers. You can use this on a gooseneck, a fifth wheel, and lunette- ring trailers. This unit is made of laminated steel-frame construction and withstands the elements with an ultrasonic-welded, plastic housing and PVC cover. So that keeps the lock itself, actually, clean from the elements. This does come with a limited lifetime warranty. We will go ahead and show you how it works on a variety of different types of couplers and lunette rings.
All right, this is the part that actually clamps against the coupler or lunette ring and that actually holds everything in place. And this is an adapter right here. And this adapter comes out. And you use this on the king pin, so the king pin would actually fit inside of here and then would clamp down and will not go anywhere. But for anything else, like a gooseneck coupler or a lunette ring, this comes out. And you just pop it to one side and it comes right out. And again, it is the same operation just wrap it around the ring or the gooseneck coupler, clamp it down into place as tight as it can go, and then lock it with the key in front here.
First we are going to show this on a king pin. And we have our kingpin adapter in place. We just slide it onto the kingpin, like so, and then we push the other part in so it clamps together as tight as you can get it. And then just simply turn the key. And you remove the key, put the cap back on, and it is ready to go. And nobody could latch up to this king pin and just take off with it. Now we are going this on a gooseneck coupler. Now, gooseneck couplers come in a variety of different shapes, but this is designed to fit the vast majority of them. We will install it on this one here. Again, it just goes over the bottom of it and then clamp it as tight as possible and lock your key in place. All right, now we are going to install this in a lunette ring here. Again, the same thing occurs. Let us just go ahead and just wrap it around it as best you can and then just clamp it into place. All right, and there you have it for part number 2989AT from Master Lock.
