This cargo carrier has a capacity of 500 pounds and requires a 5/8 pin and clip, sold separately. Alright, we are going to show you how to put it together, obviously it is not rocket science but we will show you a couple of hints that will make it easier to put together. The best way to start off simply is just go ahead and have the cargo carrier upside down like we have it and just simply really just bring the two halves together. Make sure it is good and tight and you have separations equal on both ends. They wont be perfect but get them as close as possible. And then what we will do next is go ahead and install our side plates. Make sure you have the logo facing the right way, we are upside down for the moment, and just go ahead and put it together. Now we can go ahead and tighten our bolts down. Now repeat for the other half. Now that we have the basket itself assembled and tightened down, next assure every thing is secure on top
Now we can go ahead and install the shank, making sure the curved section is facing down towards the ground when it is right side up. You simply slide the bolts through, once you have the shank installed and the bolts installed, you can go ahead and tighten it down. One thing you want to check out before you assemble it is go ahead and check for spacing on here, what could happen if there is too much space between the shank and the frame is that if you tighten this down this could potentially pull this apart. So what you want to do is try to tighten it up and see what happens from there, if it does start to pull apart, go ahead and reset the basket and then then what you want to do is go out and get yourself some washers and put them between the shank and the basket here. Go down all three sides and that usually will take care of any slack that needs to be taken up. It wont hurt the performance of the rack or anything, it will just make everything just a little bit tighter. Alright, lets go ahead and tighten down the three main bolts. Once you have your carrier assembled, we can go ahead and install it on your two inch receiver hitch. With your pin and clip installed, the unit is ready for service. There you have it for part # 63153 from Tow Ready products, the cargo carrier with the dimensions of 24 inches wide x 60 inches long and rails about 5-1/2 inches deep.
