Installation of a Wiring Harness on a 2005 Kia Sorrento
Today we are going to install part number 118307 on our Kia Sorrento, 2005 model. And we will show you how it plugs in. To install the part, it is a pretty simple device. There is an actual port for a towing package on the passengers side frame rail, right here. And all you have got to do, basically, is just pull off the cap. Push in this little button in and the cap comes out, and the T-1 connector actually just plugs right back in there. And at this point, you just route the T-1 however you want. Tie off the converter box in a safe location, and then just run your wires out to your hitch.
What looks like a good spot, actually, is right above the spare tire rack here. So what we will do is just put the wire over the top of it here. You should have plenty of room for your spare tire. Let us run our zip tie across the top of it, through the wires, and I think that will be good. All right, the next thing we are going to do is run our wire to the other side, here. Just bundle it up and go ahead and just zip tie it to the top of the hitch here it will be safe and out of the way. Get yourself some extra-long zip ties and just run it across, maybe one on each side.
At this point, you can mount your 4-pole connector to a bracket that will mount to the factory bracket on the hitch, where you can simply zip tie it in place or add on another type of connector from here. And that concludes our install of part number 118307 from Tow Ready, T-1 connector.
