Installation of a 2009 Buick Enclave

Today on this 2009 Buick Enclave we will be installing wiring harness part number 118450. The connection points for our wiring harness are located directly behind the tail light assemblies on both of the drivers and passengers sides. So the first thing we need to do is go ahead and remove both of those. And that will expose the two screws that are holding the tail light onto the vehicle. We will go ahead and remove those. We will just gently pull away the tail light connector that we are going to be connecting our harness into located right here. We want to go ahead and press the tab here at the top of the connector. And that will allow us to pull the two pieces apart. I am going to set the tail light aside for the time being. We will take the harness here and we will start with the connectors that have the yellow and brown wires on it.

This is the one that we are going to be connecting to the driver side. You will also see here that we have got a white wire here that has got a ring terminal on it. That is our ground wire. We want to go ahead and take the self tapping screw that is provided with our installation kit. And then screw that to the back side of the tail light housing here. Then we are going to take the remaining pieces of the harness itself which would be the connector for the passenger side and the 4-pole. We are going to route them down through this opening here in between the vehicle and the bumper. Get those fed through so you can go ahead and put our tail light back on here on the driver side. And go ahead and remove the passenger side tail light. Okay, up underneath the vehicle go ahead and release this push pin here. That will allow us to hide the wire back behind there.

There is one actually on each side of the vehicle. We want to go ahead and route our wires across the back side of the bumper here. We are going to be routing the green connector all the way over to the passenger side tail light. The 4-pole we are just going to route it through the whole vehicle here. Go ahead and put our push pin back in. To aid in the feeding of the connector up from below the vehicle up to the tail light assembly go ahead and use a piece of fish wire here. And just feed that down through the opening. And we will just make our connection just like we did on the driver side. And that will conclude the installation of wiring harness part number 118450 on a 2009 Buick Enclave.
