Today on this 2010 Ford F-350 Super Duty, we are going to install part number SSA10 from SuperSprings. The first thing you want to do is go ahead and get the vehicle up in the air a little bit. You do not have to take off the wheel, but it makes things a lot easier to fit inside there. So, we have our wheel off. We have the suspension unloaded. And basically what is going to happen is we are going to set a block that goes on top of the factory overload spring right here. Alright, the first thing we want to do is go ahead and install this block that fits right here. Now this will fit a couple of different vehicles. You will need to flip it around and find out which is the best fit. Once you have that just like that, you can take the SuperSpring and lay it on top. And you will have to maneuver it around some cables, especially the parking brake cables, and make sure you do not hit anything else in the way. We also took off the bolts that go through the bottom, just to make it easier to thread everything inside because the unit does come preassembled. 1:07
Alright, you can see how the parking brake cable is pretty close to the spring. We are actually going to scoot it forward so it comes up behind it and just enough and it gives you some room to take this bracket and just kind of bend it up so it takes the cable and pulls it a little bit farther away. Alright, once you have it in place, go ahead and make sure you can let these hangers go down on each side of the spring. It is ok for them to drag, but it should not be tight. You still may have to move it back and forth to give it a good fit. Alright, you want to make sure you do this on both sides of the spring. Make sure that the shackle links. They can drag on the side of the spring but not be really tight. Do that on both ends of the spring. And then, once you are happy with that, go ahead and start installing the bolts. Alright, there is a metal bushing and a plastic bushing and they fit in just like this. And we will run our bolt in. And it just gets the nut on the end. Go ahead and repeat the same process back on the other side of the spring. 2:03
Once you have all the hardware loosely installed, it might be a good idea to go ahead and put the wheels back on, lower it and make sure nothing interferes. The spring should have a slight tension on it. If that is all good, then go ahead and tighten down all of the bolts. Now, we have already done the other side. So we know exactly where to set everything so we can go ahead and just tighten up the bolts. You want to tighten it up until you hit the metal bushing on the inside. And that will be tight enough. Alright, now just make sure it is under tension. Just make sure you cannot move the shackles or the rollers on both sides. When you have that, then you are ready to go. Alright, with that that will finish our install of part number SSA10 from SuperSprings.
