Today we are going to show you the Thule Raceway platform style two bike carrier, part number TH9003. To mount the Raceway on your vehicle, check the instructions for the proper fit dial setting. On our Jetta we need to be at number 7. The rack will sit on the trunk of the vehicle. The top two cables are going to hook to the trunk lid by the rear windshield. The bottom two cables will hook to the lower lip of the trunk lid. Once the rack is centered, you can use the knobs on the end of the rack to tighten up the cables. The trays on this rack will telescope out to accommodate bikes of varying lengths. Undo the latch and slide the tray out to fit your bike. Once the proper length is set, simply close the latch and the tray is locked in place. The arms of the rack will come down and clamp on to the top tube of the frame. We will put our bike in place, lower the arm and close the clamp on the tube. Once we have the clamp in place, we can secure the wheels with the included wheel straps. 0:57
There are two spots that utilize the Thule one key lock cores. The first lock is at the tensioning hub. With this lock engaged, the cables on top cannot be released, so the rack is secured to the vehicle. Once unlocked, we can pull up our latches and release the cables. Once the bike is secured and the clamp is closed on the frame of the bike, we can engage the lock. With the lock engaged, the knob turns into a free spinning knob and will not open the clamp. Once unlocked, the knob goes back to functioning and will open and close the clamp on the bike. Now that our rack is properly mounted to the vehicle and our bike is secured to the rack, we will go ahead and take it out for a road test. We will check to see how stable the rack is and how well it holds the bike on the road. And that does it for the Thule Raceway platform style two bike carrier, part number TH9003.
