Review of a Roadmaster Quiet Hitch Anti-Rattle Device

Today we are going to review the quiet hitch anti-rattling ring from Roadmaster, part number RM-061. This anti-rattle ring works with class III 2 inch receiver hitches and bolts on in seconds. It will help eliminate the loud rattling noises that you get from the hitch connection. To install the unit, all we need to do is take the anti-rattle ring. And you will notice at the bottom we have a jam nut and a regular tightening nut on it. We can go ahead and remove the jam nuts for the time being. 0:26

And just go ahead and release the tightening nuts all of the way to the bottom of the thread. We can then take it and slide it over our hitch accessory that we are going to be using inside the trailer hitch. For this purpose we are just going to be using a regular ball mount. Slide that in there and go ahead and line up our pin and clip. And what we will want to do is take the outer ring here and we are actually going to seat it over the collar of the hitch itself. And the bottom tumbler here will tighten on to the bottom of the ball mount. 1:09

With that tightened down, it will pull the ball mount and the hitch together thus removing the rattle. You can see, with the two tightened together, the rattle is gone. Once you have it tightened on there, you can just go ahead and put the jam nuts on. It is going to prevent the tightening up from loosening up on us. Now you are ready to tow in peace and quiet.
