Installation of Putco Element In-Channel Window Visors on a 2003 Ford F-250

Alright, today we are going to review part number P580203 from Putco. This is their Element tinted polycarbonate window visor. A couple of features about the window visor is that it has a simple, in-channel installation, so it fits in the same channel as the window itself. It has a moisture-wicking, beaded edge that helps you remove moisture from the visor. It is a precise fit for the vehicle so it is designed for the actual door itself. And also the shape of it reduces wind noise. 0:28

Alright, we will go ahead and show you the steps involved with this window visor. Alright, the first step involved is to go ahead and cleaning out the window channel itself. And we are just going to use a paper towel and some rubbing alcohol. And we are just going to clean off the seal inside the channel itself. Get out as much dirt as we can. It is going to adhere to the inside of the weather strip right here. So you want to get that inside edge cleaned out. Alright what happens next is you would go ahead and normally peal off the covering fort he adhesive, which there are three of them and then put it into place. However, it might be a good idea for a permanent install is to put it in there once or twice to get a feel for how it goes in. And then on the third attempt, go ahead and undo the adhesive. And with this demo, we are going to leave like it is and put it in the track. 1:13

We are going to start off going to this lower corner of the window right here and then just work our way around up to the very top. Pull the other side down a little bit. And as you do this, keep pushing towards the inside of the vehicle so you do not have adhesive stick where you do not want it to. Alright, and when you do have it in the spot you want, go ahead and push it from the bottom and apply the adhesive. And the next thing you want to do is run the window up and down a few times to thoroughly adhere the window visor into the window strip seal. And then also it is a good idea to go ahead and leave the window up for 24 hours, prefferably in a warm enviornment, so the seal will take and never go anywhere after that. Alright, we have the driver side done. We will go ahead and repeat these same exact steps back over on the passenger side. And there you have it for our review of part number P580203 from Putco.
