Installation of a Trailer Hitch on a 2002 Ford E-350 Super Duty Van

Today on this 2002 Ford E-350 Super Duty Van, we are going to install part number 41926 from Draw-Tite. Now we are looking at the driver side of the vehicle frame rail and the hitch is going to mount up using this hole here, this one, and this one right here. It is going to be identical on both sides. This is going to be a really straight forward install. At this point we can already start installing our hardware. We are simply just installing blocks over the holes that we are going to use. Install another block here. And we repeat the same process back on the driver side. Now we can go ahead and put our hitch up, we just have to make sure that we have got a space there between the hitch and the frame at this spot here. If you notice, the frame overlaps here so we have got to take into account that, so it is a nice, straight, even plane. We will go ahead and start hanging the hitch.

We will just install it loosely with a couple of nuts to hang it in place and then we can go ahead and install the rest of our hardware. It is a good idea to get an extra set of hands with this because this is a very heavy hitch. We will go ahead and sneak in our blocks. And what we are going to do is just pull up the bolt a little bit, slide the block in, and put the bolt back into place. And then we will go ahead and install the rest of our hardware on that bolt. It will be that flat hard washer and then our lock nut. Now we have got this bolt holding everything up so we will take this one down, put that back up. Go to our forward bolts. Our passenger side is done so we will go over to the driver side and do the same thing all over again. All right, at this point, we can go ahead and snug down our bolts and then we will go ahead and give them their final torque. And with that that finishes our install of part number 41926 from Draw-Tite.
