Installation of a Trailer Hitch on a 2007 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited
Today we are going to install part number 87424 on a 2007 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited. The hitch itself mounts onto the very end of the last cross member on the vehicle frame itself, and that is of course right behind the plastic bumper here. But it installs in 4 bolt holes here in the center. Basically the hitch wraps around the beam here and the bolts go through and attach it and basically bolt it into place. Our first step we need to do is go ahead and lower the exhaust, basically to help get the muffler out of the way so you can run the bolts straight into the frame. We just needed that little bit of flexibility to get the bolts into place. Now we can simply put our hitch up into place and then run our bolts in. Once you get your bolts started you can go ahead and snug them down.
Once you get everything threaded in, make sure everything is straight and we will go ahead and give the bolts their final torque. Now we can go ahead and put our hangers back onto the exhaust. That covers our install of part number 87424 on a 2007 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited.
