Installation of a Trailer Hitch on a 2009 Ford F-150
On this 2009 Ford F-150 we are going to install part number 87494 from Hidden Hitch. This will also apply to part number 75651 from Draw-Tite. All right we will go ahead and show you the attachment points. The hitch is going to attach on this bumper bracket right here and mounts on the side of the bumper bracket back here. Our hardware is going to be this bolt, the conical tooth washer, the hitch, and there is another conical tooth washer behind the bumper bracket and the nut itself.
Then just go ahead and bring the hitch up. And we have a bolt already sitting in there, so lets push it into place, and we will put our hardware behind it just to hold it. All right we will go ahead and do the same thing for the drivers side. All right we will go ahead and put our bolt from the outside in just to the hitch, and it is going to come out the oval here. And then since there is such a big hole here a bushing actually fits inside. It is a thick washer, just going to go up there and take up space. The big square block is going to sit on top of it and then a flat washer on top of that and then the lock washer and nut.
Make sure the flat round thick washer stays inside the frame and does not get pinched or anything like that. Again we are just going to do it finger tight because we may have to move it around just a little bit more. And we are going to do the same thing on the drivers side. Basically you have got it right, this hitch is sitting flat on the frame bracket here to and the hardware is sitting at an odd angle. We are actually going to go ahead and torque those down as specified in the instructions. In a a few short simple steps this hitch has already been installed. And there you have it for part number 87494 from Hidden Hitch.
