Today on this 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee we are going to be installing Hidden Hitch part number 87752. This installation will also apply to the Draw-Tite part number 75338. Okay we are underneath the vehicle. We are looking at the rear bumper structure, we have four holes that we will be using as our attaching point for the trailer hitch. The hitch is actually going to go up around both sides of the bumper structure and we are going to put the bolts through each one of the holes and attach it to the weld nuts built into the hitch.
Before we get started we need to remove two of the plastic push rivets that are holding the bumper to the bumper structure. Okay with those two removed we can kind of push the bumper fascia away from the bumper structure here enough where we can get the hitch up and around. And we will be attaching the hitch to the bumper structure using the 4 inch long 1/ 2 inch hex bolts along with the conical tooth washers.
If you are finding that there is an excessive gap in between the trailer hitch and the bumper structure itself, you can go ahead and use these flat washers that are provided in the installation kit and slide them in between the hitch assembly itself and the bumper structure around each one of the bolts and that will help ship up the extra space that is in there. Now you can see by tightening those down it pulled the hitch up nice and tight to the frame, so we do not have to worry about putting any extra flat washers in there. I am going to go back through and torque the bolts down now. You want to check with the directions to verify the appropriate torque rating for each individual bolt. Okay with the bolts torqued down we can go ahead and put our push rivets back into place. And this will conclude the installation of part number 87752 on a 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee.
