Today we are going to do an install on a 2006 Pontiac Torrent by Draw-Tite, part number 36408. Before you install your hitch it might be best to find all your mounting locations, just to get familiar with the underside of your car. There are six holes total: there are two on each side of the frame, one low and one high and those are notorious for being dirty, so before you start the install it would be best to run a bolt in and out. Maybe spray some lubricant on it to ream any debris out of the hole, so it will be a lot easier when you are raising up the hitch to get a bolt started. Next we have the center of the vehicle, and there are two holes. These are both threaded on this particular model, so you will need to fish wire the carriage bolts in place. And the drivers side is definitely going to be the harder side of the install, because there are two, just like the other side, but they are between the muffler and the outer fascia.
Once you have got the holes cleaned out and feel like you are ready, go ahead and lift up the hitch and we are going to go for the outer bolts to get one started and then move to the other side and then work to the center. We will just put one in on each side right now just to hold the hitch in place. All right, once you have got the hitch bolted on each side, go ahead and install the rest of the hardware loosely and make sure the hitch is secured in position. All right, now that all the hardware is installed we are just going to tighten it up. And now that all the hardware is tightened up, it is time to re-go over it and torque it down to the specifications in the instructions. Once you have the bolts torqued down and the hitch is straight, that should conclude the install by Draw-Tite on a Pontiac Torrent, part number 36408.

Today on this 2007 Pontiac Torrent we are going to do an install of part number 13591 from Curt. Now this is what the hitch looks like when its installed on the vehicle. Next well give you some measurements to help you out in selecting some accessories such as a ball mount, a bicycle rack or a cargo carrier. From the top of receiver opening down to the ground on this particular vehicle is going to be 14 inches. From the center of the hitch pinhole to the outside edge of the bumper is going to be 4 inches. Now we will go ahead and show you how the hitches is installed on the vehicle.
