Today on this 2002 Hyundai Santa Fe we are going to be installing part number 87419 from Hidden Hitch. As you can see we already removed our spare tire. Then we are going to lower the exhaust. First thing we are going to do is remove our exhaust hangers after we lower our spare tire. We are just going to lubricate up the hangers. There is going to be two on both sides of the muffler at the rear most of the vehicle. We are just going to lube them up with WD-40 and then we are going to slide them off. 00:29
We are going to show you the mounting locations now. On the driver side of the vehicle there is going to be five locations and they are going to be here. On the passenger side of the vehicle there is only going to be three locations and they are going to be here, here, and here. Now we are going to clean out our threads. We are just going to spray them down with a lubricant and run our wire brush in there and out and just clean out any loose debris in our threads. 00:58
Now that we have all of our holes cleaned out we are going to put our hitch in position. You might want to get a second set of hands to help hold the hitch up while you thread in your bolts. We are going to be installing our hitch with the conical tooth washer and bolt that are supplied in the kit. As you can tell there is going to be one bolt that is going to be larger than the other ones. That one is going to go farthest forward. 01:20
Now that we have got our bolts in position we are going to tighten down and torque as specified in the instructions. Now that we have our hitch installed and our bolts torqued down we are going to put our exhaust back into place by just putting them back on the hangers that we took off previously. Now we will take a couple of measurements for you. From the center of the hitch pin hole to the edge of the bumper is going to be approximately three inches. From the top of the receiver tube opening to the ground is going to be approximately 15 inches. This will complete the install for part number 87419 on this 2002 Hyundai Santa Fe.
