Today were going to review part number UWS00401. This is the UWS Truck Bed Toolbox. This is a crossover style and its an angled box. The angled series is a low profile single lid crossover box which was developed to accommodate the storage needs of the smaller import trucks. It has a unique shape that allows it to fit the contours of the wheel well. This multifunction utility box has a large lip that mounts onto the truck bed rails fitting snuggly behind the cab.
Two super duty lift cylinders right here on the inside help raise the insulated bevel lid and hold it open at a full 90 degrees for easy access to your gear. This box also features two stainless steel padded lift handles in the front of the box on both sides and a secure lock on the drivers side to protect the contents from the elements and from theft. This is a crossover saddle style toolbox which will hang from the truck bed rails right behind the cab. It is built of a 0.063 aluminum tread plate construction with fully welded seams which are guaranteed not to rust. It has two stainless steel latches right here with a lock right here on the drivers side.
On the inside when you pull the latch and open it, theres a connecting rod that will attach so you only need to be on one side to open the latch and it will open both. Theres a connecting rod in here. On the inside they actually have a connecting rod enclosure which will protect that connecting rod from getting bent or jammed from anything that youll be carrying inside the toolbox. The lid has a beveled lid feature and it is a foam filled lid which will provide insulation and protection from the elements. Its also used as a structural foam which will reinforce the shape and strength of the lid.
In other words you can open and close it on one end. All the way on the lid theres a foam gasket which will provide a dust barrier and help seal it to keep elements from out of the toolbox. The two heavy duty gas cylinders which will help to lift the lid and hold it open, and the full length of the lid is connected with a piano hinge. There is a sliding tray on the inside here which will help keep smaller items from moving around in the toolbox. The J bolt installation hardware is included.
This part is made in the USA and it does come with a one year warranty. You can hear it latch close and if you want to lock it you just turn it a quarter of a turn, take the key out and the latch will not open. That will keep it locked. To open it just put the key in, turn it a quarter of a turn and youll be able to open it up. I do want to give you a few dimensions on this. The length on this is 60 inches long. It is 19-1/4 inches wide and the height is 13-1/2 inches. You can allow an inch for the lid if you wanted to. The capacity on the inside is 7.2 cubic feet of useable space. The top of the box, this is where it will sit on your bed rails will be 4 inches. It will sit 4 inches above your truck bed rails. Again, the lock does include two keys.
