Today we're going to review part number 5408. This is the Shelby Single Speed Winch with a 1,900 pound weight capacity. This winch is engineered and built tough to be used in a variety of applications. All of the gears are heat treated, high carbon SAE 1050 steel. The reel and pinion gear shafts turn on oil-impregnated bearings for smooth operation. The winch frames are embossed for added strength.
They do have a zinc plating which will fight against corrosion. The gear ratio on this winch is 5.1:1. Basically, what that will mean is to turn this drum one complete revolution will take 5.1 revolutions of the handle crank. It is a 2-way ratchet style and it will freespool when put in the center position. Again, this has a weight capacity of 1,900 pounds.
This part is made in the USA. And I just want to show you the ratchet right here. So with it all the way down when you crank it the crank turns in the counter-clockwise position. All the way up position it'll crank in the clockwise position. And then if you put it in the middle it will basically freewheel, go in any direction.
It does come with the handle and the nut to install it onto your winch. The length of this handle would be 8 inches. And, again, that should do it for review on part number 5408.
