Review of the Kickstand for the Rack and Roll Trailer from Yakima

Today we are going to show you the the kickstand for the Yakima Rack and Roll trailer part number Y08115. The kickstand is 17 inches long. It mounts easily to the tongue of the trailer using a couple of screws to clamp it down. There are two silver push buttons on either side of the kickstand that will allow you to swing it up and out of the way. The kickstand will hold the trailer level while you are loading or unloading. At the bottom of the stand is a rubber foot peg, the leg itself is painted, and the bracket at the top is zinc plated to help resist corrosion. Yakima also includes a lifetime warranty with the kickstand. Before we can install the kickstand we need to remove the tongue from the trailer first. The first thing to do is pull out the 4-pole harness that came with the trailer. We are going to disconnect this and put it aside. 00:50

With the 4-pole wiring out of the way we are going to pull the pin that locks the tongue into place. With the pin out we can unlatch the tongue and slide it completely out of the trailer. With the tongue out we can install the kickstand. With the tongue off the trailer we can slid the kickstand on from the back. Make sure the kickstand swings up towards the rear of the trailer in the event that you were to leave it down it will swing it up and out of the way that way. The two small nut and bolts are what we are going to use to clamp the kickstand securely on to the trailer tongue. The larger nut and bolt will adjust how stiff or how loose the kickstand will move up or down. We are not going to tighten it down hard but we are going to get it nice and snug to keep the bolt from rattling. Now that we have the kickstand assembled on the trailer tongue we can reinstall the tongue on the trailer. With the trailer tongue back in the trailer we can use our kickstand now to make reinstalling the wiring easier. We will reconnect the wiring at the trailer. To make pulling the wiring past the bolts easier we are going to use the fish tape. Once you have the wiring pulled through that concludes the installation of the Yakima kickstand for the Rack and Roll trailer part number Y08115.
