Today we are going to show you part number LT37613 from Loctite. This is their windshield repair kit. Today on this vehicle we are going to replace a sizable chip in the windshield and see how it works. The first thing you want to do is get your favorite glass cleaner and clean up the area really good and if you can if there are some little bits inside the impact area you may want to try to clean that out as well. Let it dry out really good and then put a cloth at the bottom of the windshield below the damage because when you install the product and remove it you are going to have a little bit of run off, so keep it away from the painted parts and it will be okay. 00:35
The first thing we need to do is get the adhesive disc and punch out the center of it so you can apply the product so pop that out and then on one side of the disc peel off the adhesive and put it over the crack in the glass. Center it up. Once you have that done pull the adhesive off of the other side and install the pedestal on top of that. That is the plastic piece that the syringe goes into. Try to get it as straight as possible. Now take the syringe and push it into the pedestal and twisting it at the same time kind of threading it in and make sure it gets fully seated. 01:11
Once you have that accomplished hold the syringe with one hand and gently pull back the plunger with the other hand. When you pull back the plunger, hold it for a few seconds, and then let it go. Do that about 10 times. Now we are going to let that sit for about 30 minutes. Lets take a look and see how well we did. We will take a look and make sure that all of the cracks are filled up. If you still see a lot of it you may want to repeat the same process of pulling at the plunger and letting it go about 10 more times and then wait another 30 minutes. It looks like we are doing pretty good so lets take it apart and see what we have got. Remove the pedestal and we have got some leftover fluid, wipe that up and just peel off the adhesive. Then we will clean it up with some glass cleaner. As you can tell we had a pretty good to deal with and a lot of it is virtually gone. There you have it for part number LT37613 from Loctite.
