Today we're going to review part number AM3S434. This is a Kenda Loadstar Tire size ST205/75D14. It's a bias trailer tire. It's mounted on a 14-inch Five Spoke Aluminum Wheel. This wheel is a five spoke star design. The face of the spoke, the outer edge of the wheel has a machine finish and then the whole wheel is clear coated for protection against corrosion.
The opening of the wheel is silver painted and also has the clear coating. The back of the wheel is protected also. We're going to do a few measurements on this wheel, the diameter we'll measure inside to inside, it will be 14 inches. The width of this wheel is 5-1/2 inches wide. This wheel does have a bolt pattern of 5 holes 4-1/2 inch bolt pattern.
And on a wheel that has an odd number of lug holes like in this case, five, there are a couple of ways you can go about measuring the bolt pattern. And I'll show you on an alloy wheel because the lug holes are recessed and it's hard to see the center of the wheel hole. I'm going to turn it and we're going to measure the back of the wheel. That way we can see the center of the lug holes a lot better. Ok, the first way you can measure it would be is if you drew a circle through the center of all five of the lug holes and measure the diameter of that circle.
So in this case if we measured center of this hole to the outer edge of that circle it will be 4-1/2 inches so that means this is a 5 on 4-1/2 inch wheel bolt pattern. The other way is if you pick a lug hole and measure it from the center of that lug hole to the center of the lug hole adjacent to it, either way. In this case center to center will be 2-5/8 inches. And then what you'll do is go to the product page for this part number and at the bottom of the page there's a chart and it will show when that measurement is 2-5/8 inches it will mean this bolt pattern is 5 on 4-1/2 inch wheel. This wheel does have a weight capacity of 2040 lbs at 60 psi.
It does use a wheel bolt size of 1/2-inch by 20. The other critical measurement is the large hole in the center of the wheel, this is the pilot hole. This is what will go over the hub on your trailer. So if we measure the diameter on that it will be 3.19 inches. Now we'll move on to the tire which is a Loadstar size ST for Special Trailer, 205/75D14. The D will designate that this is a bias design tire. This tire is a Load Range C which is a six ply rated tire. This tire does have a maximum load carrying capacity of 1760 lbs at 50 psi. And because this wheel is a bias constructed tire what that will mean is the belts or the chords in the tire will run the length of the tire as opposed to a radial where they will run bead seat to bead seat or the radius of the tire. A bias tire usually when compared to a radial, the sidewall will be a little more firmer compared to a radial designed tire. I'll give you one last measurement, the overall diameter. That will be 26 inches. And this wheel and tire combo does come with a limited two year warranty. And that should do it for part number AM3S434.

In this video we are going to describe how to measure a trailer steel wheel. I have two examples here one is a 14 X 5-1/2, 5 on 4-1/2 bolt pattern steel wheel. This other one is a 16 X 6, 6 lug on 5 steel wheel, and the way to measure to know what size it is, on the diameter of the wheel, in other words what size tire will fit on this wheel is you want to measure from the inside to the inside where the bead seats and protrudes 60 inches. In other words thats the bead seat to the bead seat. You do not want to measure over all length from edge to edge, okay and to measure the width of the wheel. Again you will not want to measure, do not measure overall because it will show 7 inches incorrect.
