Now we're going to review part number DL16001. This is the Dutton Lainson Hand Winch with the Top Plate finish. This winch has a zinc Tough Plate finish. Which is a yellow chromate finish that has three times the corrosion resistance of your standard zinc-plated chrome finish. This winch has a 400 pounds capacity and it does have a ratcheting handle. It is a standard duty one-way ratchet.
This winch does have a hub drag diameter size of 58 inches, which is this part here where the wire cables are strapped or wind around. It does use a, if you use a wire cable, it will be a size one eighth inch diameter cable and it can hold up to 87 feet of wire cable. This drum will also, you can use a two inch wide nylon strap and it can hold up to 19 feet in a strap situation. This winch is mainly used for light applications such as a personal water craft like a Sea Doo or it can be used in applications where you have limited room for cranking. That way, you do not need that much room for cranking.
On some standard duty winches, the winch will go 360 degrees. You might not have room to have a crank that will go 360. This is a nice winch to use in place of that. A handle is included in the winch. It does come with a five-year limited warranty.
It is made in the U.S.A. Just to show you a couple of features, there's a ratchet lever right up here. That you can lift up to release it so the handle's not engaged to the gear. If you put it back down, it will engage the gear and if you pull it back, it rides over it, and engages it so it is a one-way crank. There is another ratchet pull right here, that when you push it down, will release it and allows the drum to free wheel.
This is with the handle attached. If you don't want the handle attached, you can remove that and the drum will free-wheel on its own. That should do it for part number DL16001.
