Today were going to review part number bd183816. This is the Bulldog Square Jack, two speed jack with a spring return drop leg and the planetary gears. This jack is a two speed design which makes cranking faster and easier. It has a low gear which will give you full lifting power in a ratio of one inch for every 27 turns. It has a high gear which will give you ultimate speed with one inch movement for every nine turns. This is the fastest in the weight class.
This jack is ideal for standard agricultural, construction and industrial trailer applications. This planetary gear box which is this right here makes switching gears fast and easy, no need to reposition the crank. It eliminates the need for spacers by fitting within the jacks profile. Basically this would be in the high gear right now to get it into the low gear you would just pull it out and you can see that it extends out. Then as youre cranking it in low gear for every 27 turns it will move the jack one inch.
Then if you want to put it into the high gear this will give you ultimate speed where it will raise or lower the jack one inch for every nine turns. It is a smooth and simple operation. It does have painted surfaces on the inner tubes, the outer tubes, and the drop leg for good weather resistance. The drop leg does have a sprint return which will increase the overall extension for maximum adjustability. It does have a plunger pin which is positioned on the front.
The standard foot plate is included. Now the side-wide crank is not included but if you go to the product page for this part number on the right side of the page will be a box of related products. It will list the correct side-wide crank for this jack. Just to show you how the drop leg will work. You just pull the plunger pin out, lock it into position.
Then you can pull down the spring loaded drop leg and itll have adjustment holes up and down the leg. When you find the right height you want, release the plunger pin, it would move into the holes on the drop leg and hold it at that height. Then when you are ready to remove it just again pull out the plunger pin and because its spring loaded the drop leg will automatically retract up into the jack. I do want to give you a few measurements. This jack here Ive already cranked to the fully retracted position. The total height on this fully retracted would be 29 and a half inches. Now I did pull another exact same jack and to save time Ive already cranked it out to the fully extended position. That would give you 42 inches on this fully extended. That would give you a maximum lift on this jack of 12 and a half inches. The drop leg will give you extra amount of travel of 13 and a half inches. The width on this square tubing on this jack will be four inches. This jack does have a static weight capacity of 12,000 pounds and a lift capacity of 10,000 pounds. It does come with a limited five year warranty. Basically I just want to show you again how youd move it from low gear to high gear. Right now it is in the high gear. You would just pull out on the handle and it will move it out into the low gear. If you just push it back in it will put it into the low gear. That should do it for a review on part number bd182815.
