Signature Series Fifth Wheel Installation Rails are custom made, specific for newer Chevrolet, Dodge, Ford and GMC trucks. The new "Power Puck" mounting system allows the hitch to be installed in the pickup truck bed with only 4 small holes. The mount holes are flush in the truck bed, therefore, once the fifth wheel hitch is removed, nothing will interfere with whatever is going into the truck bed next. Once the Signature Series hitch is placed into the under-bed mounting rails, 4 quarter turns (one on each of the legs) of the mount handles secure the hitch. Two padlocks is then all it would take to make sure the hitch isn't going anywhere. The new tight lock also reduces the noise and play associated with the older mounting system of pins through rails.

Fifth Wheel Sliders are used on short bed pickups to prevent damage to both the truck and trailer when maneuvering in tight locations and at low speeds. When pulling a fifth wheel trailer, the king pin needs to be in front of the rear axle. On short bed trucks, the trailer is closer to the cab of the truck so on sharp turns the trailer could actually come in contact with the truck cab. The slider provides a greater turning clearance by moving the king pin farther back to the rear of the truck when maneuvering at low speeds around camp sites etc.
