Wiring a Tekonsha Voyager part # 39510 to a 2007 Chevy 2500HD Pickup with New Body Style

Question:

I have a 2007 new body style Chevy 2500HD pickup. I have installed a voyager brake controller but I am unable to locate wher in the fuse box do I install the fuses to make the controller work. Also, can you tell me if the light on the controller should be lit without a trailer hooked up? Thanks

Expert Reply:

You do not need to install any fuses, they are already in place. What you will need to do is locate a wire, usually red, with a ring terminal on it. The wire is taped to a harness that is between the fuse block and the driver side fender. I have included a link to a video of a 2008 Chevy Silverado that should help you find the wire. Skip to the 4:00 minute mark in the video. If a trailer is not connected, the indicator light will not glow. With a trailer connected the light should glow green. I have also included a link to a video demonstration on the Voyager.
