Brake Stoplight Switch Connection for Brake Controller Install on 2006 Uplander

Question:

I am trying to install an electronic brake controller on our 2006 Chevy Uplander and need to know where to connect the red wire from the brake controller. Ive read that it should connect to the white wire on connector 2 pin 30 for it to operate correctly. I need to know where the white wire at C2 pin 30 is and if this is indeed correct.

I've done some research, and have found that yes, you would want to connect to that white wire coming out of Connector 2, Pin 30. This wire is located in the Body Control Module, which is located above where your left knee would be as you are sitting at the wheel. Use a circuit tester, such as part # 40376 to verify that this white wire goes hot only when the brake pedal is pressed.
