Brake Controller Wiring Adapter Not Working Correctly on 2002 Chevrolet

Question:

I hook up the adaptor to the box under the dash and the wire for the foot brake I cant find. When I hook up the 4 wires on the controler and push the lever the small blue wire in back lights up not the big blue wire.

Are you using the OEM wiring adapter? Is it the adapter that came with the vehicle? It sounds as if the adapter is wired incorrectly. If the adapter is being used, you should not have to make any connection to the brake stoplight switch, the light blue wire on the adapter should be making that connection. If I had to guess, I would say that you might have the adapter for the wrong model year. GM changed the way the adapters were wired from the 2002 to the 2003 model year. If you have the wrong adapter, it would explain the problem you are experiencing.
