Question:
I just purchased the A30850 along with cargo net from etrailer. Went together just fine and mounted in the hitch OK. However, I dont think my 2002 Ford Windstar Minivan has enough room to fold the carrier up. The carrier will not fold up all the way. Is this common with Ford Minivans and the Sportrack?

Expert Reply:
Yes, the distance on the 20x60 Folding Cargo Carrier for 2 inch Trailer Hitches, item # A30850, from the center of the hitch pin hole to the closest part of the carrier to the vehicle (railing) is only 1-1/4 inches when folded up. So there is minimal room for the carrier to fold on vehicles with rounded back ends where the hitch is recessed a bit. The railing, which is a nice feature, is the limiting factor when folding the carrier up. We have two other carriers that have longer distances from the hitch pin hole when folded and they are the 24x60 Folding Cargo Carrier for 2 inch Trailer Hitches, item # 52018F, which has a folded measurement of 5 inches and the 22x56 Folding Polypropylene Cargo Carrier, item # 7507, that has a measurement of 6-3/4 inches when folded.
