Question:
I have a bed liner the in hard plastic liner in my 2006 dodge 2500 6ft box. I am using the under bed rails, can the liner just be cut out around so the hitch fits where it needs to on the box. I understand this is a little more work, but there isnt any reason it cant be done is there.

It is possible to install a fifth wheel hitch in a truck with the plastic bed liner. As you mention, the liner wound need to be trimmed so that the rails (if using above bed rails) or the feet of the hitch (when using the under bed rails) have metal to metal contact with the bed. If the liner is in any way sandwiched between any part of the hitch system and the truck bed, that portion will eventually disintegrate causing a loose hitch.
