Compatibility of the Pilot Brake Controller # 80550 on a 2008 Ford F-150
Question:
Does this brake controller work for 2007-2008 Ford F-150? Also my truck has both the 4 wire flat and 7 way plug from factory will this work on both?

Expert Reply:
Yes the Piolet Brake Controller, part # 80550, will work with your 2008 Ford F-150. 4-way connectors do not have a provision for brakes, so if you have a trailer with a 4-way connector, it should not have brakes on it. It will work fine with your factory 7-way connector and the 4-way will still function normally. You will also need part # 20260 to connect the brake controller to the brake controller port on your F-150. I have included a review video on the Pilot Brake Controller and I have also included a video of a brake controller install on a 2008 F-150. You can skip to the 5:48 mark in the video since you have a 7-way already. It is not the same brake controller, but you will wire it the same way.
