Will A Back Up Alarm Cause Reverse Lights to Blink or Dim

Question:

Currently have a 7 wire connecter. Wish to hook up Rr back up warning device as well. If I hooked up the back up lights then the warning beeper would alternatly flash the bck up lights?? Possibly needing an 8 wire connecter? If so, is there such an animal? John Haney

If a Backup Alarm is installed and wired properly, it will not cause reverse lights to blink or dim. We have several Backup Alarm products available and I will include a link so you can see the universal applications. I would recommend Tow Ready 7 Pole to 7 Pole Backup Alarm, part # 118705. This product eliminates the need to do any wiring as it plugs into your vehicle 7 pole port and the trailer harness plugs into the alarm. In addition to not having to do any wiring, the alarm can stay on your vehicle when you use a trailer, or you can plug it into another vehicle with a 7 pole connector. I have also include a demonstration video of this product.
