Question:
Does this product lock the trailer brakes when power etc uncoupled.

Expert Reply:
If the power was cut to a brake controller, the brakes would simply not work. They would not lock up. We have an excellent video on the features of the Tekonsha Prodigy Brake Controller, part # 90185, which you can access from the product page. If you are wanting something to stop your trailer brakes in the event it becomes disconnected, we have the perfect solution. The Tekonsha Breakaway Kit with Charger, Clamp On, part # 2028, brings your trailer to a stop if it should become unhitched. This keeps accidents to a minimum and complies with most states departments of transportation.
