For the 2009 Chevrolet Silverado, no wiring adapter is necessary. All necessary tow package wiring is located below the dash, to the left of the steering column in the area above the emergency brake pedal. The color coding of the tow package wiring is different from the wire colors on the Tekonsha P-3. The controller would wire up as follows. The blue tow package wire connects to the blue wire on the controller, the white ground wires would also connect together. The blue and white striped tow package wire connects to the red brake controller wire, and the red tow package wire would attach to the black wire on the controller. Your tow package wiring might contain an orange wire that is not needed, tape off the end of this wire, and tuck it up out of the way.
