First you will need a hitch like part # 24703 installed on your vehicle with drawbar part # 3593 and a 3/4 inch shank Hitch Ball fitted for your trailer like those found on the link I have provided. Please note, the manufacturer specifies this drawbar to be used only in the rise position. Once you have these, the next step is wiring for the trailer lights. The first wiring step is to add a connector to your vehicle. You will need part # 20251. This hardwire kit includes a tester to help you make sure you have made the right connections. It also includes 4 Scotch Lock connectors so that you will not have to cut and solder wires. I would also recommend getting a connector cover, part # 30512, to protect the connector when not in use. If the trailer does not have a connector you will need part # 18004 and to follow the instructions on the trailer wiring page I have provided a link for. I have also added a link showing a hitch install on a newer Elantra that may be helpful if you do not already have a hitch.
