How to Wire Truck Camper to 2004 Chevrolet Silverado Using Gooseneck Wiring Harness, Part # 31156

Question:

I HAVE A 1971 SECURITY TRUCK CAMPER, CAN YOU TELL ME HOW TO WIRE IT TO MY TRUCK? SILVERADO 2004 MAY BE A DIAGRAM WITH THE WIRE COLOURS? I HAVE SOME WIRES COMMING OUT THE FRONT OF THE CAMPER.

To determine the function of the wires coming out of the camper, try applying 12 V to each lead with the negative battery pole grounded to the trailer. This should tell you the function of each wire. Since the color coding of the different camper manufactures can vary, this would be your best bet. To attach into the truck lighting circuits, I would recommend using the Fifth Wheel / Gooseneck Trailer Hitch Wiring Harness, part # 31156. The harness would plug into the connector located above the spare tire.
