If I Flip my Ball Mount, does the Weight Bearing Capacity Change?

Question:

I thought I had read that you needed to de rate a ball mount if it was flipped 180 deg from a to a rise. True?

With older ball mounts, this used to be the case. If you have purchased the ballmount within the last 5 years or so, the ball mount will be rated the same regardless of whether it is in the rise or drop position.
