Brake Controller Port Location and Wiring on a 2000 Chevrolet C/K Pickup

Question:

I have a 2000 chevy 3500 pickup I am trying to hook up your Journey 52650 have the adaptor 30408 , but nothing matches , the junction block left of the brake pedal is nothing like whats pictured on the instructions , also the fuse block under the hood is nothing like whats is shown in this link do i have the wrong adaptor ?? if so please advise me.

GM made two different pickup styles that model year,the Silverado and the C/K pickup. The C/K truck does not have the provision for plugging a wiring adapter in under the dash like the Silverado, so your adapter is not needed. Your brake controller will have to be hardwired. We have a Brake Controller Installation Guide on our web site that you might find helpful. In addition to the Valley Journey Brake Controller you already have, you will need a Brake Controller Installation Kit. If you are needing a 7-Way connector, we offer the Part # ETBC7 Kit, if you need a 6-way connector, go with the ETBC6 kit. If your truck does not already have a 4 way trailer connector, you will also need the T-1 Vehicle Wiring Harness, part # 118315 to tap into the truck lighting circuits. Your vehicle might have some of the wiring in place, the lead for the brake output (blue wire) and the 12V accessory lead (red or orange wire) might have been run from the end of the drivers side frame rail to the engine compartment, but these wires can be difficult to locate which is why we recommend the install kit.
