Question:
I installed a velcro fit toneau cover on my 2006 2500 Chevrolet 8 box. when I back down my driveway, as I turn the camper trailer down the driveway the bottom side of trailer rubs against the toneau cover rails, therefore scratching into the fiberglass underside. Is there a way to raise the trailer 5th wheel hitch or some type of shim. all I need is about 1/2.

Expert Reply:
If your fifth wheel trailer has less than 6 inches of clearance between the trailer loft and the top of the truck bed rails, you will need to raise up the height of your hitch. You do not mention the model of hitch you are using, but most hitch base units have a series of holes in the sides that allow you to raise or lower the height of the head portion of the hitch. You would simply remove the bolts which hold the head unit to the base, and use a higher set of holes.
