Prodigy Brake Controller Installation Instruction for 2009 Chevy Suburban

Hello, do you have installatioin instructions for a Prodigy hook up to a 2009 chevy Suburbun. Are any of the installation video that are currently availavle work for the 2009 suburbun?

Expert Reply:

The installation procedure for the GM full size trucks would be identical to the procedure you will use to install a brake controller in your 2009 Chevy Suburban. The tow package wiring is located under the dash, to the left of the steering column. The blue tow package wire connects to the blue wire on your Prodigy, the blue and white tow package wire connects to the red wire on the Prodigy, the red tow package wire connects to the black wire on the brake controller, and the white ground wires connect together. The tow package also has an orange wire, which is for an illumination circuit. This wire is not used, you can tape off the end of it and tuck it up under the dash. If your Suburban does not already have a 7 way connector on the bumper you will also need the Replacement 7-Way Connector, part number 20047.
