You will have to measure to determine if the carrier will fit when folded. If you measure from the center of the hitch pin hole to the point where the bumper sticks out the farthest you will have the measurement needed to determine if the carrier will work when folded. On this carrier, 52018F the distance to the folded carrier tray from the center of the hitch pin hole is 5 inches. We carry two other cargo carriers that fold and have a longer hitch pin hole distance when it is folded and they are the, 6502, 20x48 Folding Cargo Carrier and the 7507, 22x56 Folding Polypropylene Cargo Carrier. Measurements for these carriers are 7-1/2 inches and 6-3/4 inches, respectively, when folded. There are also hitch extenders available to allow the carrier to fold when not in use. Using a hitch extender will reduce your hitch's overall capacity by 50%.
