Wiring a 2008 Toyota Tundra for a brake controller

Question:

I have an 08 Toyota Tundra which came with a 4 flat factory connector wired. I have a trailer with a 7 round connector the trailer does have brakes. I want to be able to use the trailer brakes. The cab is pre-wired for a brake controller. Im thinking that what I have to do is buy an adapter that will get me from the 4-flat vehicle connector into the 7-round trailer connector. Then I have to run a wire for the trailer brake power. Im just not sure where to run the wire to. There is an empty slot in the fuse block labeled trailer brake, but Im not sure if that is where I should try to land the wire or not. Can you help me with this or provide a simplified wiring diagram on the vehicle side? I figu

You mention a 7-round plug and I just want to verify there are six flat pins in a circular pattern with a round pin in the center. You can use the Brake Controller 7 and 4-way Installation Kit - 10 Gauge (part ETBC7). There are videos on the product page that go over how to install it. The installations are for different vehicles, but are similar to your vehicle. I spoke with our technical advisor about your fuse block, labeled trailer brake. To make sure it is the slot to use, you will need to test it with a circuit tester. Have someone press on the brake while you test it. That is the best way to make sure you have the right connection. It should go hot when the brake pedal is pressed and off when it is released.
